According to the Yedioth Aharonoth newspaper, Israeli Army Spokesperson Daniel Hagari, speaking to army radio, stated that a surface-to-air missile launched from Lebanese territory at an Israeli unmanned aerial vehicle was intercepted by air defense systems.

Hagari noted that following the incident, an Air Force aircraft responded by striking the launch site within Lebanese territory.

Meanwhile, Yedioth Aharonoth drew attention to the fact that "this is the first time a surface-to-air missile has been launched from Lebanon since October 7."

There has been no statement from the Lebanese side regarding the matter yet.

The Israeli military announced in a statement on its X platform page yesterday that Israeli fighter jets had struck a surveillance tower belonging to Hezbollah in Lebanon.
