Israel attacks those waiting for humanitarian aid in Gaza! Death toll rising
In attacks carried out by Israel across the Gaza Strip since the morning hours, 58 Palestinians, including those waiting to receive humanitarian aid, have lost their lives.
Health officials and eyewitnesses in Gaza reported that the Israeli army targeted civilians at many points from the north to the south. The attacks were concentrated particularly on homes, tents, and crowded areas.
In the Al-Maghazi Refugee Camp in the central part of Gaza, an attack by an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) on an area where civilians had gathered resulted in 5 deaths and numerous injuries.
In the north of Gaza, near the Netzarim Corridor, 13 people were killed and approximately 200 were injured when fire was opened on Palestinians waiting for humanitarian aid. In the same region, 2 Palestinians were killed in artillery fire on the Bir an-Naja area, west of the Jabalia Refugee Camp.
Attacks on civilians waiting for aid continued in the northwest of Gaza City, where 5 people lost their lives. In the Makusi area, 4 people were killed and many others were injured in a UAV attack on civilians.
The Israeli army distributed warning leaflets to thousands of people sheltering in the Halawa Camp in the Zarka region south of Jabalia and the adjacent school, ordering them to evacuate the area.
In the city of Rafah, 14 Palestinians were killed in attacks that took place near an aid distribution center. In artillery shelling targeting various parts of Khan Yunis, 15 people, including women and children, lost their lives.
The Palestine Red Crescent Society announced that internet and landline services have been completely cut off due to Israel directly targeting communication infrastructure. This situation is severely disrupting the coordination of health teams and emergency interventions. The Red Crescent stated that cooperating with humanitarian aid organizations has also become largely difficult.
Israel's military operations in Gaza, which have been ongoing since October 7, 2023, continue with the support of the US. Despite calls from the International Court of Justice to halt the attacks, Israel is not implementing these decisions. As a result of the attacks, more than 182 thousand Palestinians, the majority of whom are women and children, have been killed or injured. Additionally, more than 11 thousand people are missing, and hundreds of thousands of people have been forced to leave their homes. Many children have also lost their lives due to famine and destruction.
