Israel expected to release 600 Palestinian prisoners
The Palestinian Prisoners Media Office has announced that Israel is expected to release approximately 600 Palestinian prisoners tonight, while Hamas has stated that it will hand over the bodies of 4 hostages to Israel tonight.
Following Hamas's announcement that an agreement has been reached with Israel on a solution to end the delay in the release of Palestinian detainees, the Palestinian Prisoners Media Office announced that Israel is expected to release approximately 600 Palestinian prisoners tonight.
The office stated that preparations are underway for the prisoners at the European Gaza Hospital in the city of Khan Yunis in the Gaza Strip, adding, "The prisoners are expected to arrive between 22:00 and 00:00 local time."
HAMAS TO HAND OVER BODIES OF 4 HOSTAGES
In a statement issued by Hamas, it was announced that the bodies of hostages identified as Itzahi Eidan, Itzik Al-Jarit, Ohad Yehlomi, and Shlomo Mansour would be handed over to Israel tonight.
ISRAEL HAD NOT RELEASED THEM
Hamas had released 6 more Israeli hostages on February 22 as part of the final stage of the ceasefire agreement reached with Israel, while Israel had failed to fulfill its commitment to release 620 Palestinian detainees. In a statement from the Israeli Prime Minister's Office, it was reported that the release of the Palestinian detainees had been postponed, citing "ceremonies by Hamas that humiliate the hostages" and "the use of hostages for propaganda purposes" as the reasons.
