Israel opens Erez Crossing for the first time since October 7
For the first time since the events of October 7, Israel has opened the Erez Border Crossing to increase the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.
While Israel's attacks on the Gaza Strip have continued for 208 days, Israel has opened the Erez Border Crossing for the first time since the events of October 7 to increase the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.
The opening of the Erez Border Crossing had been one of the primary demands of international aid organizations for months to deliver humanitarian aid to the hundreds of thousands of civilians living in northern Gaza.
Erez was opened during U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken's visit to Israel.
Colonel Moshe Tetro, head of Israel's Coordination and Liaison Administration for Gaza, said the crossing would be open daily and that he hoped it would help reach the goal of 500 aid trucks entering Gaza per day.
