At least 22 Palestinians, including women and children, lost their lives after the Israeli army bombed a United Nations (UN) school where displaced civilians were sheltering in the northern Gaza Strip, which has been under siege for 13 days.

According to the official Palestinian news agency WAFA, Israeli warplanes bombed the Abu Hussein School, which is run by the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), in the Jabalia Refugee Camp. At least 22 people, including women and children, were killed and many others were injured in the attack on the school where displaced civilians were taking shelter.

The Israeli attack caused a fire in the tents where displaced Palestinians were staying in the school courtyard. Some of those who lost their lives and the injured were transported to the Kamal Adwan and Al-Awda hospitals in the region. Medical teams are struggling to reach the people at the school bombed by Israel.
The Israeli army has been keeping the northern Gaza Strip under siege for 13 days, forcing the local population to migrate.
