Israeli Chief of Staff Halevi: We are closely monitoring events in Syria

According to a report by The Times of Israel, Halevi held an assessment meeting on the developments in Syria during his visit to the occupied Golan Heights.

During the meeting, Halevi stated, "We are following what is happening closely. The main thing is to see Iran's exit (from Syria). Secondly, to see what the local elements taking over the region are doing, how they are behaving, how they are being deterred, and to ensure they do not get confused and turn in our direction."

Halevi, who also approved "attack and defense plans" during an assessment meeting with senior officers at the 210th Bashan Division stationed in the occupied Golan Heights, emphasized "high readiness in attack and defense, the concentration of forces at the border, and continuous monitoring of developments (in Syria)."

Emphasizing that Israel is "not involved in the events in Syria," Halevi claimed that they are only "working to prevent threats in the region and preparing plans for various possibilities."

The Israeli army announced yesterday that it had sent reinforcements to its units in the occupied Syrian territory of the Golan Heights due to the developments in Syria.
