Israeli Defense Minister calls for 'Hamas opportunity'

According to a report broadcast on Israeli Army Radio, Gallant met with some of the hostages' relatives.

Gallant stated that the entire Israeli security establishment views the return of the Israeli hostages as its primary goal and that they must do everything possible to take advantage of the current opportunity.

Arguing that military pressure in Gaza has created the conditions that make progress toward an agreement possible, Gallant noted that Israeli security forces know how to stop the conflict and how to resume it anywhere in Gaza if necessary.

Israeli Minister Gallant emphasized that they must utilize this military pressure to activate the agreement and not miss the opportunity.

Indirect negotiations between Tel Aviv and Hamas are expected to resume in the coming days, mediated by Egypt and Qatar, to reach an agreement on a hostage exchange and secure a ceasefire.

An Israeli negotiating team led by Ronen Bar, the director of the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet), traveled to Egypt today to participate in discussions regarding hostage exchange negotiations and the administration of the Rafah Border Crossing.

Furthermore, it was reported that a delegation led by CIA Director William Burns had arrived in Egypt ahead of the new round of negotiations for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Hamas, for its part, has stated that it has adopted a positive and flexible stance to reach an agreement to stop Israel's attacks on the Gaza Strip, while accusing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of increasing obstacles to the negotiations.
