Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant says the war is not over
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant stated that they will continue the war using all their strength after the 4-day pause in fighting in Gaza.
According to a written statement from the Ministry of Defense, Gallant spoke about the agreement reached in Gaza following his meeting with his Italian counterpart, Guido Crosetto, at the Ministry building in Tel Aviv.
Gallant stated, "There will be a short humanitarian pause, after which we will continue the war with all our military might. We will not stop until we achieve the goal of destroying Hamas and releasing the hostages. There are 240 hostages (in the hands of Hamas), and this is not something we can accept or tolerate."
Regarding the front opened on the Lebanese border, Gallant noted the following:
"We have no interest in fighting, but we need to deter our enemies. We cannot return to the situation before October 7. We were subjected to a brutal attack by Hamas, and then came the attack by Hezbollah. We will not tolerate threats against our citizens."
