Israeli hackers target Iran's crypto assets: $1.7 billion lost

The Israeli hacker group Gonjeshke Darande (Predatory Sparrow) has attacked the cryptocurrency reserve created by the Iranian regime to circumvent economic sanctions. The group announced that only $100 million remains of Iran's total $1.8 billion in crypto assets.

In the statement released, it was alleged that the seized cryptocurrencies were used by Iran to bypass sanctions and support terrorist activities. Following the attack, the fate of this massive amount of crypto assets remains uncertain.

The hackers also announced that they would share the source code and internal correspondence of Nobitex, one of Iran's leading cryptocurrency platforms, with the public within the next 24 hours. Nobitex is alleged to provide support to the Iranian regime.
