Israeli media claims 'new ceasefire' proposal

Israeli media reported that the government has presented a new proposal for a ceasefire. 

According to a report by the Haaretz newspaper citing a senior Israeli official, Tel Aviv has requested through mediators (Egypt and Qatar) that Hamas release 11 hostages it holds in Gaza, hand over the bodies of 16 others, and provide information regarding the remaining hostages in exchange for the aforementioned ceasefire.

The report also noted that within this scope, Israel would release some Palestinian prisoners from its jails, though no specific number was provided.

It was noted that Israel has set a 40-day period to complete the prisoner exchange agreement with Hamas, and that the agreement would begin immediately following the release of the 11 Israeli hostages.

According to the proposal, it is envisioned that information regarding the hostages in Gaza will be obtained from Hamas on the 5th day of the agreement, and the bodies of 16 Israelis will be received on the 10th day.

According to Israeli public opinion, it is estimated that there are 59 Israeli hostages in the Gaza Strip, 24 of whom are believed to be alive.

There has been no statement yet from Israel, Hamas, or the mediating countries regarding the matter.
