Israeli military claims responsibility for airstrikes in Yemen
The Israeli military has claimed responsibility for airstrikes conducted on several locations in Yemen, primarily targeting the international airport in the capital, Sanaa.
In a written statement issued by the military, it was noted that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yisrael Katz, and Chief of General Staff Herzi Halevi had approved the attack plan against the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen.
Following the approval of the plan, it was stated that Israeli fighter jets carried out airstrikes on "military targets belonging to the Houthis" in Yemen.
It was noted that the Sanaa International Airport, as well as the Haziz and Ras Kanatib power plants, were targeted in the attack.
In addition to these, it was reported that attacks were also carried out on "military structures" in the cities of Al-Hudaydah, Salif, and Ras Kanatib.
The statement also included certain allegations regarding the Houthis and Iran.
In a post shared on the Telegram account of Al-Masirah television, which belongs to the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen, it was stated that Israel had conducted airstrikes on the capital, Sanaa, and the Red Sea coastal city of Al-Hudaydah.
This was recorded as the 4th attack carried out by Israel on Yemen.
Israeli Air Force Commander Tomer Bar said in a statement yesterday that they would increase attacks against the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen.
The Israeli military most recently conducted airstrikes on Yemen's capital, Sanaa, as well as the city of Al-Hudaydah on December 19. At least 9 people lost their lives in those attacks.
