Evaluating criticisms regarding a security failure in the attacks launched by Palestinian groups from Gaza on October 7, Israeli Army Spokesperson Daniel Hagari said, "There was no concrete intelligence warning regarding this event. We did not grasp such an event. There were some intelligence signs the night before, but not for a move like this. We will investigate everything in depth."

Hagari stated that they struck the homes and bases of the elite commando units of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, who participated in the attacks from the Gaza Strip on surrounding Israeli settlements.

INFORMATION IS BEING COLLECTED FROM THE WOUNDED

Stating that they are receiving information from the wounded Palestinian armed elements in their custody regarding "tunnels, launch ramps, assembly points, and military positions" inside Gaza, Hagari expressed that they would settle the score with everyone who participated in the attack.

Conveying that the Israeli army is preparing against a possible attack from the north, the Spokesperson said that soldiers are patrolling around residential areas in the region, setting up checkpoints, preparing traps in the terrain, and that the region will be reinforced with more troops.

LEADERS ARE TARGETED

Meanwhile, in a written statement made by the Israeli army, it was reported that Muhammad Abu Shamla, a high-level leader of the Qassam naval units, was killed in the attacks carried out on the Rafah town of the Gaza Strip during the night hours. In the statement, it was claimed that ammunition to be used in naval attacks was stored in Shamla's house.

ISRAEL-PALESTINE CONFLICT

The Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, had launched a comprehensive attack on Israel on the morning of October 7 called "Al-Aqsa Flood".

While thousands of rockets were fired from Gaza towards Israel, Palestinian armed groups raided the Beit Hanoun-Erez Border Crossing on the Gaza-Israel border and seized it.

The armed groups then entered settlements inside Israel from there, and the Israeli army launched an attack on the Gaza Strip with dozens of fighter jets.
