Israeli opposition proposes deal for release of hostages
The opposition in Israel has stated that they will support any deal that ensures the release of hostages held by Hamas in Gaza.
According to a report by the Yediot Ahronot newspaper, Lapid met with representatives of the families of Israeli hostages.
SUPPORT FOR ANY DEAL
In his speech there, Lapid stated that "the opposition will support any step and any deal that will ensure the return of the hostages held in Gaza."
Lapid used the expression, "We will not say that we would have managed this better, but those held (hostages) must return, and it is our duty to bring them back."
NETANYAHU SPOKE CLEARLY
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced today that they would not agree to a ceasefire unless the hostages held by Palestinian groups in the blockaded Gaza Strip are released.
There are 242 Israeli hostages in the hands of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas.
