Israeli press: No one should expect vision, leadership, courage, or truth from Netanyahu

In an article titled "Don't ask Israelis about Palestinian casualties in Gaza right now," written by Dahlia Scheindlin for the newspaper Haaretz, reference was made to a poll in which approximately 90 percent of Israelis argued that the Palestinians killed and wounded were targeted for "entirely or partially justified reasons."

The article, which stated that Israel needs a leader rather than polls, noted that the country is witnessing a failure of leadership regarding the "future of the occupation and the conflict" that is unprecedented in history.

Pointing out that the Israeli government was not only unaware of the October 7 attack by Hamas's military wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, but also does not know what to do in the aftermath of the attack, the article assessed that the war cabinet has been unable to decide whether the attacks on the Gaza Strip are "helping to rescue the hostages or causing them to die."

Recalling that Netanyahu opposes the establishment of a Palestinian state, the article included the statement: "Netanyahu offers nothing for the long-term future of the conflict. No one should expect vision, leadership, courage, or truth from Netanyahu."
