Israeli press reports: Netanyahu fears 'arrest warrant'!

It was noted that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is "unnaturally fearful and tense" due to the possibility of an arrest warrant being issued by the International Criminal Court in The Hague.

It was pointed out that over the last few days, Netanyahu has held numerous phone calls with international leaders and officials, primarily US President Joe Biden, in an effort to prevent an arrest warrant from being issued against him.

It was stated that the Israeli Prime Minister is attempting to indirectly pressure President Biden to take action against a potential arrest warrant.

In a post on the X social media platform on April 26, Netanyahu stated, "Under my leadership, Israel will never accept any attempt by the ICC to undermine its fundamental right of self-defense. The threat to seize the soldiers and officials of the Middle East's only democracy and the world's only Jewish state is unacceptable. We will not bow to it."

NETANYAHU HOLDS TALKS AGAINST POTENTIAL ARREST DECISION

Israel's Channel 13 television had reported that the National Security Council was evaluating the possibility of international arrest warrants being issued for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, and Chief of General Staff Herzi Halevi.

It was reported that Netanyahu would meet with his counterparts from the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, and Austria to prevent a potential ICC decision.

In this context, it was noted that Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer and Israel's Ambassador to Washington Mike Herzog would hold contacts with the US Congress and the administration of US President Joe Biden.

It was stated that Israeli officials expect international arrest warrants to be issued "against policymakers" rather than lower-level soldiers.

It was reported that in the event the ICC issues an international arrest warrant, Israel has approved a series of "emergency measures," including "launching an international political campaign against the ICC's decision."

A report by Israel's Channel 12 on April 19 also announced that the ICC was working on issuing international arrest warrants for Netanyahu and senior Israeli officials on the grounds that they committed war crimes in the Gaza Strip.
