In a statement issued by the Israeli Prime Minister's Office, it was stated that doctors discovered a hernia in Netanyahu during a routine examination, and that Netanyahu would undergo hernia surgery today.
The statement noted that Netanyahu would be under anesthesia during the surgery, adding, "During this time, Deputy Prime Minister and Justice Minister Yariv Levin will serve as acting prime minister."
