Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu: 'We will enter Rafah and achieve total victory'

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated regarding the potential ground offensive on Rafah, where 1.5 million Palestinians have taken refuge in the southern Gaza Strip, "We will enter Rafah and achieve total victory."

In a statement released by the Israeli Government Press Office, it was noted that Netanyahu visited a police station on the occasion of the holy Purim holiday in the Jewish faith.

Netanyahu made a reference to Haman, the vizier of the Persian King Ahasuerus, who according to the Torah is defeated during the Jewish Purim holiday, and said they would eliminate Hamas's Yahya Sinwar in the Gaza Strip.

Prime Minister Netanyahu claimed that modern Iran is attempting to destroy the Jewish state.

Addressing the expected offensive on Rafah in southern Gaza despite international objections, Prime Minister Netanyahu said, "We will enter Rafah and achieve total victory."

Following his meeting with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who visited Tel Aviv on March 22, Netanyahu had stated that "they cannot achieve victory against Hamas without entering Rafah, and that they hope to do so with US support, but will do it alone if they have to."
