Turkey, Jordan, the UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, and Egypt issued a joint statement following Israel's attacks on Syria. The statement declared, "We support the security, unity, stability, and sovereignty of Syria, and we reject all forms of foreign interference in its internal affairs."
The statement, which condemned Israel's repeated attacks on Syria, emphasized that the Israeli strikes are a clear violation of international law and undermine efforts to build a new Syria. The statement also expressed satisfaction with the ceasefire agreement reached yesterday in the Syrian city of As-Suwayda, stressing that the ceasefire must be implemented in a way that ensures the protection of civilians and the rule of law and state authority.
The statement noted that the commitment of Syrian President Ahmed al-Shara to hold accountable all those responsible for violations against Syrian citizens in As-Suwayda was welcomed, adding, "We support all efforts to ensure security, state authority, and the rule of law in As-Suwayda and across all Syrian territory, and we reject all attempts at violence, sectarianism, sedition, and incitement."
In the statement, which included a call to the international community, it was stated, "We call on the international community to support the Syrian government in the reconstruction process, and we call on the Security Council to assume its legal and moral responsibilities to ensure the complete withdrawal of Israel from the occupied Syrian territories."
