Local elections in Israel postponed for the second time due to 'war'

Following Israel's attack on Gaza, the local elections that were scheduled for October 31 had been postponed to January 30. According to the Israeli press, the government requested an opinion from the military on whether conditions were suitable for the elections to be held at the end of January.

The Israeli military informed the government that hundreds of candidates running in the local elections are currently serving as reservists and that it is not possible to grant leave to these individuals due to the elections.

Upon this, the Israeli cabinet decided to postpone the local elections once again, scheduling them for February 27.
