As Israel's attacks on the Gaza Strip continue for the 131st day, French President Emmanuel Macron and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a phone conversation.
In a statement from Macron's office, it was noted that during his phone call with Netanyahu, Macron expressed his firm opposition to a potential Israeli military operation in Rafah.
The statement said, "This could only lead to a new humanitarian disaster, the forced displacement of the population, which would constitute a violation of international human rights, and increases the risk of regional escalation."
