French President Emmanuel Macron met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and US President Donald Trump's Middle East Envoy Steve Witkoff at the Elysee Palace in the capital, Paris.
In a statement issued by the French Presidency, it was noted that Minister of State for European Affairs Jean-Noel Barrot and Macron's diplomatic advisor and G20-G7 Representative Emmanuel Bonne also attended the meeting, stating, "The main agenda of the meeting was peace negotiations aimed at ending Russia's attacks on Ukraine.
This meeting took place within the framework of recent contacts between President Macron and President Trump, as well as the work of the coalition of the willing that met at the Elysee Palace on March 27 under the co-chairmanship of France and the UK. UK National Security Advisor Jonathan Powell also participated in the discussions in this context," the statement said.

The statement further noted that customs duties between Europe and the US and developments regarding the de-escalation of tensions in the Middle East were also discussed, adding, "The meeting addressed ending the war in Ukraine, the Iranian nuclear program, customs duties, and tensions in the Middle East."
It was stated that Macron held a phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy prior to the meeting.
