Maduro held his final meeting with that delegation

It has emerged that just hours before the capital Caracas was rocked by US-linked attacks, President Nicolas Maduro held a comprehensive meeting with a Chinese delegation in his office.

According to information received from official sources in Venezuela, the delegation, led by China's special envoy Qiu Xiaoqi, arrived at Miraflores Palace to discuss the long-standing economic and strategic cooperation between the two countries. The meeting was also attended by Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez, Foreign Minister Yvan Gil, and China's Ambassador to Caracas, Lan Hu.

Officials noted that the meeting involved a review of more than 600 agreements signed to date between Venezuela and China, as well as assessments regarding the status of ongoing cooperation projects in the fields of energy, infrastructure, and trade.

It was noted that this diplomatic meeting took place approximately 12 hours before the sounds of explosions were heard in Caracas and the US launched a military operation. US President Donald Trump had announced that a major military operation had been launched across Venezuela and claimed that Maduro and his wife had been captured and taken out of the country.

The Venezuelan government, stating that the US was behind the attacks, announced that President Maduro had signed a decree declaring an "extraordinary situation resulting from foreign interference" across the country.

Maduro's meeting with the Chinese delegation was recorded as his final official contact before the US attack.
