Major claim from Iran:

In a statement issued by the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), it was reported that in addition to targets belonging to the terrorist organization ISIS in Syrian territory, the headquarters of the Israeli foreign intelligence agency, Mossad, in the Iraqi city of Erbil was also targeted with ballistic missiles.

The attacks, which were stated to have been carried out in retaliation for the killing of commanders of the Revolutionary Guard and Iranian-backed militia groups by Israel, stated that "one of Mossad's main espionage headquarters in Erbil, which was the center for planning espionage activities and terrorist acts in Iran, was destroyed."

UAV ATTACKS CARRIED OUT AT MANY POINTS

Following reports of the missile attacks in the Iraqi city of Erbil, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps had announced that it had "struck the headquarters of anti-Iranian terrorist groups and spies in the region with ballistic missiles."

In a second statement released after this announcement, it was reported that targets belonging to the terrorist organization ISIS in Syria were also bombed with ballistic missiles launched from Iran.

It was stated that the attacks were carried out in retaliation for the suicide bombing in Kerman claimed by the terrorist organization ISIS, the attack targeting security forces in the city of Rask, and the attacks in Syria in which one of the high-ranking commanders of the Revolutionary Guard Corps, Razi Mousavi, was killed.

It had been reported that missile and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attacks were carried out at many points in the Iraqi city of Erbil.

Reports in local media stated that explosion sounds were heard in many areas, primarily near the US Consulate General in Erbil and the US-led anti-ISIS coalition base located near Erbil International Airport.
