Massive loan from the Pentagon to Trump's son's company
A 620 million dollar loan from the Pentagon to Vulcan Elements, a rare earth elements company in which Donald Trump's son, Donald Trump Jr., is an investor, has sparked a new agenda in US politics.
The US Department of Defense providing a massive 620 million dollar loan to a rare earth mining company in which Donald Trump Jr. is a partner has caused a major stir in Washington. Allegations that direct pressure was applied from the White House during the decision-making process regarding the loan in question have fueled political debates.
In the past, discussions had emerged regarding the transfer of the massive rare earth element reserve found in Eskişehir, Turkey, which was announced to be 694 million tons, to US companies. These reserves are on the strategic mining agenda of both the US and the world.
According to a source speaking to the US press, the statement, "The call came from the White House... They said we need to get this done," increased suspicions that the administration was specifically involved. Democratic members of Congress have requested an investigation into whether this transaction involved the president's family using state resources for their own interests.
While a motion is being prepared in the US House of Representatives for Trump Jr. to testify on the matter, it has been reported that the Republican wing is blocking this process.
