Minimum wage in Greece is rising to 30,000 TL!
The Greek Parliament has approved the 2024 budget. With the budget, the minimum wage is projected to increase from 863 euros to 950 euros.
The budget was supported only by the 158 deputies of the ruling New Democracy party. Opposition parties also supported the Ministry of Defense budget and approved the increase of the minimum wage to 950 euros.
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis stated in his speech during the budget negotiations, "This budget is the first in 14 years to provide for increases in civil servant salaries and healthcare expenditures."
Emphasizing that the government will always stand by the vulnerable, Mitsotakis stated that the commitment to increase the minimum wage to 950 euros is "appropriate."
