Minister Fidan's comments on US-Iran: The US is playing with fire, the situation is not good

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan evaluated the agenda and answered questions during a television broadcast he attended.

"THE US IS PLAYING WITH FIRE"

In response to a question regarding the US strikes on Iran-backed groups, Fidan emphasized that the US is "playing with fire," stating, "When you play with fire, that fire can turn into a conflagration at any moment. It may not be brought under control. We are facing a risk here. This issue of uncontrollability stands before us as a threat."

Stating that Turkey is in constant contact with regional partners and the US, Fidan said, "We must avoid regional escalation. The situation is not good. We could be faced with a larger escalation."

"ISRAEL IS NOT SEEKING SECURITY"

Fidan underlined that the issue of Israel's security is constantly being brought to the agenda by the global public.

Stating that Israel will only feel secure when it stops lying to the global public, Minister Fidan said, 'Israel is not seeking security. Israel is seeking more land. The day it grants the Palestinians their own state, Israel will be secure.'

Reminding that they have repeatedly conveyed their readiness to take responsibility as countries of the region, Fidan added, 'This is what lay behind our proposal for a guarantor mechanism, both methodologically and as a different approach, while bringing the two-state solution to the agenda.'
