While eyewitnesses and local residents recorded the engine sounds of these missiles, the characteristic flight pattern of the cruise missiles was reflected in amateur videos. The missiles, which aim to bypass radar and air defense systems by flying at low altitude and close to the terrain, particularly favored valleys and plains.

Military analysts, based on the range and flight characteristics of the munitions seen in the footage, state that these are Tomahawk cruise missiles, one of the US Navy's key weapons. Usually launched from destroyers and submarines, Tomahawks are preferred for their precision targeting capabilities.

TECHNICAL DETAILS OF THE TOMAHAWK MISSILE

Standing out as a "first strike" weapon in modern warfare, the Tomahawk cruise missile is notable for its meter-level precision and advanced navigation systems. Thanks to TERCOM technology, the missiles can detect their targets and advance at very low altitudes by following the terrain contours.

With a range varying between 1,300 and 2,500 kilometers depending on the model, Tomahawks can be fired from vertical launch systems on submarines as well as surface platforms such as destroyers and cruisers. Traveling at a speed of approximately 880 kilometers per hour, the missile flies just below the speed of sound, making it difficult to track.

Tomahawk missiles weigh approximately 450 kilograms and can carry high-explosive conventional or armor-piercing warheads. This technology allows for the precise striking of strategic targets in a short amount of time.
