The NATO Secretary General said, “The Russian army had time to entrench itself, to create well-prepared defensive lines with minefields, trenches, and obstacles for tanks.

It is difficult to overcome these defensive lines, especially if there is no air force that can truly support these operations…”

Stating that the situation on the battlefield remains complex and that the front line has not changed much in the last few weeks, Jens Stoltenberg called on allies to consider changing existing agreements with third countries to provide more military equipment to Ukraine.

SUPPORT PROVIDED TO UKRAINE

The French newspaper Le Figaro wrote that the first group of Ukrainian military pilots would begin training in France in January 2024. Following the initial training, Ukrainian pilots will enter flight programs with F-16 fighter jets.

The US approved the transfer of F-16s from Denmark and the Netherlands to Ukraine in August.

These two countries, along with the US, are also training Ukrainian pilots. In addition to these, Norway plans to provide fighters as well. Belgium plans to send F-16s to Ukraine by 2025.
