Negotiation message from Iran: We are ready for diplomacy to end the war
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has announced that they are open to diplomatic solutions to end the war with the US and Israel. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated in a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron that they are ready to evaluate diplomatic options to end the tension with the US and Israel. Claims that a temporary consensus is nearing between the US and Iran regarding sanctions and nuclear activities have also come to the fore.
MESSAGE OF DISTRUST TOWARD THE US
According to the statement shared by the Iranian Presidency, Pezeshkian stated that protecting the rights of the Iranian people is among their priorities. Expressing that they are open to diplomatic solutions, Pezeshkian voiced that their distrust toward the Washington administration continues.
Pezeshkian accused the US of carrying out attacks against Iran while negotiations between the two countries were ongoing. The Iranian President described this situation with the words "stabbing Iran in the back."
CLAIM BROUGHT TO THE AGENDA BY AXIOS
In a report published by Axios, it was claimed that the US and Iran are close to an agreement on a one-page memorandum of understanding aimed at ending the war.
According to the report, Iran is expected to agree to implement a temporary moratorium on uranium enrichment activities. In return, it is stated that the US plans to lift sanctions on Iran. Furthermore, it was alleged that the parties lifting restrictions on transit through the Strait of Hormuz is also among the articles of the agreement.
TEHRAN'S RESPONSE EXPECTED
A regional source speaking to CNN said that Iran is expected to convey its response to the US-backed proposal aimed at ending conflicts in West Asia to Washington via mediators on Thursday.
The report included an assessment that the parties are closer to a comprehensive consensus compared to previous periods. Diplomatic sources stated that the ongoing contacts aim not only to end the current conflicts but also to create a new framework for broader nuclear negotiations.
