Netanyahu decides to accelerate military moves against that country
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that he has ordered the Israeli army to increase the intensity of operations in Lebanon.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in a video message posted on the social media platform X, made assessments regarding his country's military activities in Lebanon and the ongoing tension with Hezbollah. Netanyahu stated that despite the current ceasefire environment, Israel will not reduce its operations against targets in Lebanon, and that they will fight with determination against Hezbollah's unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attacks.
Netanyahu said, "We are not taking our foot off the gas pedal in Lebanon. It is true that they are targeting us with unmanned aerial vehicles. We have a special team working on this, and we will solve this as well. This requires us to increase the strikes and their intensity."
While hot contact between Israel and Hezbollah continues, this threat was also discussed at the security cabinet meeting held the previous day. During the meeting, the measures to be taken against the UAV attacks carried out by Hezbollah, in particular, were discussed in detail.
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, one of the representatives of the far-right wing in Israel, suggested that 10 buildings should be demolished in the Dahiye district of Beirut in retaliation for every UAV attack by Hezbollah. According to information reflected in the press, Chief of General Staff Eyal Zamir also supported Smotrich's demands.
While it is noted that the tension in the region is gradually escalating, the Israeli administration is preparing to increase the intensity of its military operations.
