Netanyahu: The war will continue for several more months

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave a speech at a press conference that Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and War Cabinet member Benny Gantz refused to attend.

"THE WAR WILL CONTINUE FOR SEVERAL MORE MONTHS"

Referring to the attacks Israel has been carrying out in the Gaza Strip since October 7, Netanyahu said, "The war will continue for several more months until its goals are achieved. More time is needed for victory to be realized. We want to ensure that Gaza does not pose any threat."

Netanyahu stated that the Philadelphi Corridor between Egypt and the Gaza Strip must be in Israel's hands and under its control, adding that no other arrangement would be accepted by Israel.

"THE ISRAELI ARMY HAS KILLED 8 THOUSAND HAMAS MILITANTS"

Netanyahu said, "We have paid a heavy price in Gaza, but the war is at its peak. We are fighting on every front and we are continuing the war," expressing that the Israeli army will continue its airstrikes in all regions of the Gaza Strip, including the north, south, and central parts.

Claiming that "the Israeli army has killed 8 thousand Hamas militants," Netanyahu also expressed that the Israeli government sees a possibility of progress regarding a prisoner exchange with Hamas.

Touching upon Iran and Hezbollah in Lebanon, Netanyahu threatened that "if they expand the axis of the war, they will receive blows they cannot even imagine."

Netanyahu said, "We are working against Iran everywhere, at all times, and by every possible means. We must prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons."

Regarding his resignation from the government, Netanyahu said the only thing he wants to resign is Hamas.

The Salah al-Din Corridor, also known as the Philadelphi Corridor, includes a 14-kilometer strip stretching parallel to the Mediterranean coast from the Kerem Shalom Border Crossing between Egypt and the Gaza Strip.

In a statement yesterday on the X social media platform, the Israeli state television KAN reported that Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and War Cabinet member Benny Gantz refused to attend the press conference held by Netanyahu in Tel Aviv.

The statement did not provide information on why Gallant and Gantz made this decision.

There are disagreements within the War Cabinet, which was established in Israel after October 7 under the leadership of Netanyahu and includes Gantz and Gallant, regarding the command of the war and prisoner exchange issues.
