New development following the Trump-Zelensky row at the White House: 'Intelligence' correction arrives

Following the argument between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian leader Zelensky at the White House, the press conference was canceled and the rare earth elements agreement was not signed.

A new development has occurred following the crisis that dominated the world's agenda. Trump's Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, pointing to the meetings they will hold with the Ukrainian delegation in Saudi Arabia, said that the rare earth elements agreement with this country could be signed this week.

When asked whether it would be possible to sign the rare earth elements agreement with Kyiv during this week's meetings, Witkoff replied, "I am really hopeful. I certainly hope so. All the signs coming from (Ukrainian President Volodymyr) Zelensky, (Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy) Yermak, and the Europeans are very, very positive."

Commenting, "I think we are going there with the expectation that we will make significant progress. So I am definitely hopeful about that," Witkoff said that the agreement between the US and Ukraine would be in the interest of both countries.

"WE HAVE NOT COMPLETELY CUT OFF INTELLIGENCE SUPPORT"

On the other hand, regarding questions about the cutting of intelligence support to Ukraine, which has been on the agenda in recent days, Witkoff replied, "We have never cut off the defensive intelligence support that the Ukrainians need. Therefore, it was never completely cut off."

Witkoff will be accompanied by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz.

The US and Russia met in Saudi Arabia last month to discuss normalizing bilateral relations and ending the ongoing war in Ukraine.

ARGUMENT HAD TAKEN PLACE AT THE WHITE HOUSE

US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky argued in front of cameras during their meeting in the Oval Office on Friday, February 28. Later, the announced joint press conference was canceled, Zelensky left the White House alone, and the rare earth elements agreement was not signed.

Trump argued that Zelensky had "disrespected the American people," while Zelensky said he had done nothing wrong to apologize for.

Speaking in Congress last Tuesday evening, Trump stated that Zelensky had sent him a letter and that Ukraine was ready to sign the rare earth elements agreement and engage in peace talks.

Meanwhile, CIA Director John Ratcliffe confirmed that they had temporarily suspended intelligence support and military shipments to the country following the Oval Office argument between Trump and Zelensky, but emphasized that this was temporary.
