Drivers in the United Kingdom who reach the age of 70 are passing a critical threshold to continue driving. Experts recommend that applications be made 90 days before the 70th birthday to ensure the process is completed safely. This process prevents paperwork delays, especially for those involved in community transport and volunteer driving.

The good news is that not every license class is affected by this scope. According to information provided by the Older Drivers Forum, for those who hold a B+E class license (those who can drive with a trailer), the right to drive vehicles up to 3.5 tons and vehicle+trailer combinations totaling 8.25 tons continues after the age of 70.
