New message from Trump on intervention in Iran: The US is ready
US President Donald Trump said regarding the protests that have been ongoing in Iran since December 28, "Iran is looking at freedom perhaps like never before. The US is ready to help."
US President Donald Trump made a new statement regarding the protests in Iran. In a post on his social media account, Trump supported the view that the Washington administration could provide support for the developments in Iran, stating, "The USIran is looking at perhaps like neverbefore at freedom.The US is ready to help," he said.
"We are monitoring the situationvery closely."
US President Trump, in a meeting he heldyesterday with executives of oil and naturalgas companies, also touched upon the protests in Iran,emphasizing that they are closely followingthe developments in the country. Trump stated, "In thepast,...I clearly stated that if they start killingpeople, as they have done,we willintervene. In theprotests in Iran, 65 people had lost their lives.
The protests in Iran, which began on December 28 against the cost of living and soonspread across the countryand turned intoviolent incidents.As theprotests enter their 14th day, the US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) reportedthat since thestart of the demonstrations, at least 50 protesters and 15security personnel have lost theirlives, and 2,311 people have beendetained.had been taken intocustody. In the capital Tehran, protesters are targeting Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, chanting "death to Khamenei" slogans.
