New problems arise in ceasefire agreement

Tensions have flared up once again between Israel and Hamas. In a statement issued by Hamas, it was reported that Israel had violated the ceasefire. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF), meanwhile, claimed that it was Hamas that breached the ceasefire.

"WE ARE COMMITTED TO THE CEASEFIRE AS LONG AS THE ENEMY ABIDES BY IT"

As the humanitarian pause in the Gaza Strip continues into its 5th day, the statement said, "Clashes occurred on the ground as a result of the ceasefire agreement in the northern Gaza Strip being clearly violated by the enemy." Stating that they remain committed to the humanitarian pause mediated by Qatar and Egypt "as long as the enemy abides by it," Hamas called on the mediators to pressure the occupiers to comply with all terms of the ceasefire on the ground.

ISRAEL ALSO ACCUSED HAMAS

In a statement released by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), it was said, "In the last hour, the operational pause was violated by three explosive devices detonated near IDF troops at two different locations in the northern Gaza Strip. In one of these locations, terrorists opened fire on soldiers, and the soldiers returned fire. Several soldiers were lightly injured during the incidents. IDF troops were positioned in accordance with the operational pause."
