New statement from Iran following attack on Israel: 'Destructive and comprehensive'

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and British Foreign Secretary David Cameron held a phone conversation regarding recent developments in the Middle East.

Amir-Abdollahian stated that unconditional support for Israel would not benefit the UK or other Western countries, and urged Western nations to reconsider their cooperation with Israel.

Emphasizing that Iran's attack on Israel was carried out within the scope of "legitimate self-defense," Amir-Abdollahian noted that the Tehran administration does not favor an escalation of tension in the region and does not want war.

"WE DO NOT WANT TENSION TO ESCALATE"

Warning Israel regarding a potential retaliation against Iran, Amir-Abdollahian said, "We do not want tension to escalate in the region. However, if Israel seeks further adventure, our next response will be harsher, more destructive, and more comprehensive."

"IT IS SURPRISING THAT THE UK IS CONCERNED"

Criticizing the UK's stance on Israel, Amir-Abdollahian stated, "It is surprising that the UK is concerned about Iran's response, which stems from its right to legitimate self-defense, while thousands of bombs have been dropped by Israel on the defenseless Palestinian people in Gaza over the last 6 months."

It was reported that British Foreign Secretary Cameron expressed concern over the rising tension between Iran and Israel, stating that they would ask Israel not to retaliate against Iran.
