New statement on Biden's ceasefire proposal! What will Hamas's response be?

Qatari Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Majed Al-Ansari made statements to the official Qatari news agency QNA regarding the ceasefire proposal announced by US President Joe Biden.

Stating that "mediators have not yet received a response from Hamas regarding the latest proposal for a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement with the Israeli occupation," Al-Ansari noted that Hamas is still reviewing the offer.

Expressing that Qatar's joint mediation efforts with Egypt and the US are ongoing, Al-Ansari said, "Especially considering the sensitivity of the current negotiation situation, it is necessary not to pay attention to false news in the media and not to take into account unreliable media reports outside of official sources."

THE CEASEFIRE PROPOSAL ANNOUNCED BY BIDEN

US President Joe Biden stated in his speech at the White House on May 31 that Israel had presented a new three-phase ceasefire proposal.

Although Biden said the proposal belonged to Israel, Netanyahu announced that they would continue the war until the "determined goals" were achieved. In his speech at the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Netanyahu claimed there were "gaps" between what Israel proposed and what Biden presented.

Following Biden's statement, Hamas announced that they viewed the proposals regarding a "permanent ceasefire, the withdrawal of occupation forces from the Gaza Strip, reconstruction, and prisoner exchange" positively.

Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh stated on June 5 that they would approach any agreement based on the complete withdrawal of the Israeli army from the Gaza Strip and a prisoner exchange in a positive and serious manner.
