New statements from HTS leader al-Julani: The Israel detail

Ahmed al-Shara (Abu Muhammad al-Julani), leader of the jihadist terrorist organization Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), stated in an interview with the Turkey-based Syria TV that Damascus has been subjected to tragic conditions and that destruction has spread everywhere, adding, "To govern Syria, we must transition from a revolutionary mindset to a state-building mindset."

Stating that carefully prepared plans are needed to end the tragedy Syria has been subjected to, al-Julani pointed out that data must be collected and analyzed before taking practical steps to deal with urgent problems.

Al-Julani said that for sustainable stability to be achieved, the country must establish a state based on law and institutions.

Stating that the future of Syria depends on establishing the foundations of governance and justice, and emphasizing the importance of not repeating the mistakes made during the era of the collapsed regime's ousted leader Bashar al-Assad, al-Julani stressed that the new Syrian administration will put an end to the regime's captagon production.

Pointing out that they had made plans and preparations for many years to topple Assad, al-Julani touched upon the importance of building a new Syria that will guarantee the rights of all citizens and justice in the new era.

Recalling that the Russian Air Force focused heavily on hitting civilian targets during the Assad era, al-Julani stated that there is fear that what is happening in Gaza will be repeated in northern Syria, which he said leads to an escalation of humanitarian problems.

'ISRAEL'S ARGUMENTS ARE NO LONGER GROUNDLESS'

Regarding Israel's recent increasing attacks in Syria, al-Julani assessed, "Israel's arguments are no longer groundless and do not justify its recent violations." Al-Julani said that Israel has exceeded the rules of engagement in Syria, which has increased tension in the region.

Reminding that Syria is exhausted after years of conflict, al-Julani added that the priority at this stage is not to be drawn into conflicts that could lead to further destruction, but to ensure reconstruction and stability.

Calling on the international community to intervene urgently in the face of this tension and to assume its responsibilities, al-Julani drew attention to the importance of bringing the situation in the region under control and respecting Syria's sovereignty.

Stating that the only way to ensure all kinds of security and stability is through diplomacy, al-Julani noted that the collapse of the regime was a result of the unity of the Syrian people.

'WE DO NOT HARBOR HOSTILITY TOWARD THE IRANIAN PEOPLE'

Expressing that Iran is "carrying out an expansionist project" in the region and that this poses a threat to neighboring and Gulf countries, al-Julani said, "We have succeeded in ending Iran's presence in Syria. However, we do not harbor hostility toward the Iranian people. Our problem is with the policies that harm our country."

I AM TRYING TO AVOID PROVOKING RUSSIA

Al-Julani stated that the Syrian administration is trying to avoid provoking Russia and is providing an opportunity for Russia to evaluate its relations with Syria in a way that would be beneficial to both countries.

'OUR PRIORITY IS TO MEET THE BASIC NEEDS OF THE PEOPLE'

Al-Julani noted that the current stage requires careful management of international relations. Stating that Assad used Syria "like a farm" for personal gain, al-Julani announced that the scale of the theft was enormous and that they would publish documents showing these violations in the future. Al-Julani assessed, "Our priority right now is to meet the basic needs of the people and work toward achieving a more stable and just future."
