New threat from Trump to Iran: 'We will strike very hard tonight'
US President Donald Trump has made striking statements regarding Iran. In a post on his Truth Social account, Trump claimed that the US would carry out new attacks against Iran and argued that Kharg Island, the hub of Iran's oil exports, would also be brought under control.
US President Donald Trump used harsh language toward Iran in a statement made on the social media platform Truth Social.
Trump stated that the US would carry out new military operations against Iran, claiming that Iran's military capacity had been largely neutralized.
"WE WILL STRIKE IRAN VERY HARD TONIGHT"
In his post, Trump claimed that key elements of the Iranian military were now dysfunctional and argued that the country's offensive capacity had been severely weakened.
Trump alleged that the majority of Iran's navy, air force, radar systems, air defense elements, and other defensive capabilities had been eliminated, stating that the US would strike Iran "very hard."
STRIKING CLAIM REGARDING KHARG ISLAND
One of the most notable points in Trump's statements was his remarks regarding Iran's energy infrastructure.
The US President claimed that in the not-too-distant future, Kharg Island, one of Iran's most important oil export hubs, and other energy infrastructure points would be brought under control. He further argued that control would be established over Iran's oil and natural gas markets.
Trump stated that they had previously applied this approach in Venezuela, suggesting that a similar model could be implemented for Iran. However, he did not share any details regarding how such a plan would be executed.
WHY DOES KHARG ISLAND HAVE STRATEGIC IMPORTANCE?
Located in the northern Persian Gulf, Kharg Island is considered one of the most critical points of the Iranian economy.
The island, where approximately 90 percent of Iran's crude oil exports are conducted, hosts the country's largest oil terminal. According to experts, the majority of Iran's energy exports are managed through this hub.
With its deep-water ports capable of accommodating giant oil tankers, Kharg Island is seen as one of Iran's most important gateways to global energy markets.
The island, which has played a central role in Iran's oil exports since the 1960s, contains extensive storage facilities, pipelines, and major energy infrastructure. It is stated that the terminal has the capacity to load approximately 10 supertankers simultaneously.
