US President Donald Trump stated that he could impose sanctions on Russia if no progress is made in peace negotiations with Ukraine.
US President Donald Trump announced that he is considering imposing serious sanctions on Russia if there is no development in the resolution of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine within two weeks.
Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump said, "I will make a decision on what we are going to do, and it will be a very important decision: It will either be major sanctions, major tariffs, both, or doing nothing and saying, 'This is your fight'."
Trump, who met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska last week, reiterated his warnings toward Russia following this meeting.
Regarding whether the leaders of Russia and Ukraine will come together, Trump remarked, "We will see if Putin and Zelenskyy will work together. It's a bit like oil and vinegar."
