'No Kings' protests grow in the US

Large-scale protests were held in various cities across the United States against President Donald Trump's governing style. PREPARATIONS BY REPUBLICAN GOVERNORS

In various US states, Republican governors decided to keep National Guard units on standby to prevent the situation from spiraling out of control. However, protest organizers stated that the actions were entirely peaceful.

Since Trump's return to the presidency in January, there has been harsh criticism regarding efforts to expand the powers of the federal government. Trump has deployed National Guard units in cities via executive orders and proposed shutting down certain federal government units. He has also called for the prosecution of those with opposing views.
