Norway to cooperate with France in Epstein investigation
Norway is entering into cooperation with France in an investigation into former diplomats linked to Jeffrey Epstein. Under the signed protocol, the two countries will be able to share evidence.
Norwegian media outlet NRK announced that a cooperation protocol has been signed between the country's economic crime unit, Okokrim, and France. The protocol allows the two countries to mutually share evidence as part of the investigation being conducted into names linked to Epstein.
Okokrim Chief Public Prosecutor Marianne Bender stated that France is also conducting a similar investigation and that the cooperation is therefore significant.
INVESTIGATION INTO FORMER DIPLOMAT COUPLE
At the center of the investigation are former diplomat Terje Rod-Larsen, known as one of the architects of the Oslo Accords, and his wife, Mona Juul. Okokrim is examining allegations that the couple received "services and benefits of significant value" from Epstein between 2011 and 2018.
EPSTEIN FILE AND LEGAL PROCESS
Jeffrey Epstein, who was on trial on charges of sexual abuse of numerous underage girls and establishing a sex trafficking ring, was found dead in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan, New York, on August 10, 2019.
Names such as Prince Andrew, Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, Ehud Barak, Al Gore, Kevin Spacey, Michael Jackson, David Copperfield, Alan Dershowitz, and Bill Richardson also appeared in the case files that were made public.
In an investigation conducted by the US FBI and the Department of Justice, it was reported that no evidence was found that Epstein kept a "client list." In the same investigation, it was announced that the conclusion was reached that Epstein committed suicide in prison.
