Norwegian parliament's 'Palestine' decision
The majority of the Norwegian parliament has accepted the government's proposal calling for the country to be "prepared" to recognize an independent Palestinian state.
According to reports in the Norwegian press, the government submitted a proposal to Parliament regarding being "prepared" to recognize an independent Palestinian state.
The proposal notes that the government is calling for the "unconditional recognition of an independent Palestinian state when it has a positive impact on the peace process, without being dependent on any final peace agreement."
On the other hand, the proposal, which was accepted by the majority of parties in Parliament, states that the Palestinian state will "not be recognized immediately."
