Open threat from Trump to Iran: Is a new attack coming?

US President Donald Trump answered questions from members of the press at the airport before his departure from Florida to Washington.

Making assessments regarding Iran, Trump argued that the operations carried out were successful, stating, "They are in ruins. They are having trouble finding out who their leaders are. Because their leaders are dead."

14-POINT PROPOSAL ON THE TABLE

Touching upon the 14-point proposal presented by Iran to the US aimed at ending the war, Trump stated that he would examine the text in detail. He said he would share his final assessment on the matter later and added, "I will tell you my thoughts on that later."

"WE ARE NOT LEAVING RIGHT NOW"

When reminded of his previous remarks that not reaching an agreement with Iran might be more advantageous, Trump stated that he did not use the expression in that way. In his assessment of the process, he said, "I didn't say that. I said that if we leave there now, it would take them 20 years to recover. But we are not leaving right now. However, we will do it in such a way that no one will need to return in 2 or 5 years."

THE ENTIRE MISSILE CAPACITY IS THE TARGET

Responding to questions regarding Iran's missile production power, Trump claimed that a large portion of this capacity had been eliminated. When the importance of the remaining part was pointed out, he said, "That would be a start for them to regain strength. And yes, I would like to eliminate the rest of their missile production capacity."

"THIS POSSIBILITY EXISTS"

Trump avoided giving a clear timeline when asked whether attacks on Iran would be restarted. However, leaving the possibility open, he assessed, "I can't tell a reporter that. However, if they don't behave and do something bad. We'll see. But it is a possibility that could happen."

"FRIENDLY BLOCKADE" AND CONGRESS CRITICISM

Touching upon the naval blockade imposed on Iran, Trump argued that this practice was not a hostile step and described it as a "friendly blockade." Criticizing members of Congress who oppose this policy, Trump said, "They are currently harming our unlimited negotiating power, and they should not do that."

ENERGY AND SOLDIER PLAN

Trump replied "It could happen" to a question regarding the possibility of American energy companies operating in Iran. Drawing attention to US energy shipments, Trump said, "They have the capacity to carry 2 million barrels of oil. So, literally hundreds of ships are lined up to go to Texas. So, they have already started, we are selling a lot of oil."

Touching upon plans to reduce the number of US soldiers in Germany, Trump said, "We are going to reduce the number quite a bit, and we are going for a cut larger than 5 thousand."
