Pakistan Army: 5 missiles fired from India targeted Punjab

According to a post on the Pakistan government's X account, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistan Army, reported that 6 ballistic missiles were launched from the village of Adampur in India.

Chaudhry noted that one of these missiles fell back into the Adampur region, while the other 5 struck the city of Amritsar in the Punjab province.

Arguing that the Indian army is targeting the Sikh community in the country, Chaudhry stated that they condemn all forms of "terrorist acts."

In a press briefing held after midnight, Chaudhry also noted that Indian missiles targeted the Nur Khan Air Base in Islamabad, the Mureed Air Base in the Chakwal region of Punjab, and the Shorkot Base, but that Pakistan Air Force assets remain safe.

Lieutenant General Chaudhry stated that they would retaliate against India.

There has been no statement from the Indian army regarding the attack yet.

The Indian press claimed that there were also explosions in the city of Rawalpindi, near the Pakistani capital of Islamabad, and in Lahore, the country's largest city.

INDIA'S ATTACK ON PAKISTAN

On May 6, India launched missile attacks on Pakistani territory and the region of Azad Kashmir, which is under Pakistani control, citing retaliation for a terrorist attack in the Pahalgam region on April 22 that killed 26 people.

While the Indian army announced that it had struck 9 targets it described as "terrorist infrastructure," the Islamabad administration announced that 6 civilian locations were targeted in the attacks, 33 people lost their lives, and 62 people were injured.

The Pakistan Army stated that it shot down 5 fighter jets during the Indian side's attack, while the New Delhi administration did not confirm this.
