Palestinian President Abbas explains the purpose of his Gaza visit

According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), which met under the chairmanship of Abbas, discussed the initiative regarding Abbas's "decision to visit Gaza," which he announced during his address to the TBMM.

Abbas emphasized that with this visit initiative, he aims to stop Israel's ongoing attacks on the Gaza Strip and ensure its withdrawal from all Palestinian territories.

Stressing that the State of Palestine and the PLO hold administrative authority over all Palestinian territories, including the occupied West Bank, Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip, as a single geographical and political entity, Abbas noted that the PLO is the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people.

It was noted at the meeting that the Executive Committee will continue to oversee political actions and steps at all regional and international levels to mobilize the Arab and Islamic worlds, as well as the international community, to implement what Abbas expressed in his address.

It was emphasized that the Executive Committee will rapidly establish a commission consisting of Palestinian groups to work in coordination with international donor agencies and organizations to prepare an action plan for return and reconstruction in Palestinian territories, and will also follow practical steps toward the State of Palestine becoming a full member of the United Nations.
