Peace signal from Putin for Ukraine: We want to end the conflict
Speaking about the Russia-Ukraine war, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated, "We also want to end the conflict," adding, "Those who wanted to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia yesterday are now talking about how the conflict should end quickly."
Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the Vishnevsky Military Hospital on the first day of the new year, where he met with soldiers serving in the war in Ukraine and military hospital officials.
"UKRAINE IS NOT OUR ENEMY, BUT..."
In his statement during the visit, Putin said that Ukraine is not their enemy but that Western countries are using Ukraine, stating, "Ukraine is not our enemy. However, there are different people (the Ukrainian administration) who want to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia. But there are also people who look at us with sympathy and are with us spiritually. They fed the Kiev regime for a long time to create a conflict. Unfortunately, they succeeded in this and are trying to solve the task of fighting against Russia with the help of Ukraine."
"WE WANT TO END THE CONFLICT IN UKRAINE"
Emphasizing that Ukraine has failed on the front and that the Westerners have not achieved their goal, Putin said, "Those who wanted to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia just yesterday are now talking about how the conflict should end quickly. We also want to end the conflict, and as soon as possible. But on our own terms. We have no desire to fight forever. However, we will not give up our positions."
"NO CRIME COMMITTED AGAINST CIVILIANS OR SIMILAR TERRORIST ACT WILL GO UNANSWERED"
Recalling that 24 people were killed and more than 100 were injured in the missile attack carried out by Ukraine on the Russian city of Belgorod, Putin stated that they would retaliate against Ukraine for this attack, saying, "The goal here is to intimidate us and create some kind of uncertainty in our country. And we, of course, will increase our attacks, as I mentioned. No crime committed against the civilian population in Belgorod or any similar terrorist act will go unanswered or unpunished. We are striking the centers of (Ukrainian) soldiers and mercenaries with high-precision weapons, primarily military facilities. You must have noticed that such attacks were carried out the day after the terrorist attack in Belgorod. They are being carried out today, and we will do so tomorrow as well."
