US President Joe Biden stated in his remarks at the White House today that he spoke with Trump on the phone. Noting that it was a brief conversation, Biden said, "I am sincerely grateful that he is doing well and recovering."

Stating that he and First Lady Jill Biden are praying for Trump and his family, Biden also conveyed his "deepest condolences" to the family of 50-year-old Corey Comperatore, who was killed at the rally. Biden said of Comperatore, "He was a father. He was protecting his family from the bullets."
