A plane in India made an emergency landing after one of its engines caught fire. The 179 passengers and 6 crew members on board were evacuated without injury.
India's Karnataka state, a plane departing from the airport in the city of Bengaluru made an emergency landing after one of its engines caught fire.
According to reports from India's NDTV channel, the Air India Express aircraft had taken off from Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, bound for the city of Kochi in Kerala state.
Minutes after takeoff, it was determined that one of the plane's engines had caught fire.
Officials from the company operating the airport stated that the aircraft was directed back to the airport from which it had departed for an emergency landing.
While the fire on the plane that made the emergency landing was extinguished, the 179 passengers and 6 crew members on board were evacuated without injury.
