Poland imposes restrictions on Russian diplomats

Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski, while in Brussels, Belgium, for an EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting, announced that they have imposed travel restrictions on Russian diplomats in Poland on the grounds that Russia is involved in a hybrid war against Poland and the EU.

According to the announcement, Sikorski stated that diplomats serving at the Russian Embassy in Warsaw, the capital of Poland, will only be allowed to travel within the Masovian Voivodeship, while consular staff in other cities will be permitted to travel only within their respective jurisdictions.

"A VERY SERIOUS WARNING SIGNAL"

"We have evidence regarding the involvement of the Russian state in organizing sabotage acts in our country as well. We hope that the Russian Federation will consider this a very serious warning signal," Sikorski said, noting that the travel restrictions do not apply to Russia's Ambassador to Warsaw, Sergey Andreyev. Sikorski added that the restrictions in question would be communicated to the Russian Embassy in Warsaw via a diplomatic note.
